Career development is the accumulation of knowledge, experience, values, attitudes and skills along the path of professional development. The importance of adequate career guidance is predetermined by its impact on professional self-esteem, the desire for lifelong development and the improvement of the quality of life.

Career consulting is focused on career development and involves assessment and discussion with the aim of informing, counselling and planning. The need for such counselling is driven by factors such as unrealistic expectations, insufficient awareness and aggressive informing, which are serious obstacles when choosing the right profession.

The Career Development Centre at ULSIT offers career counselling for prospective students, current students, alumni, who:

• Need guidance in choosing the right career;
• Need help to make informed career change choices;
• Want to know more about writing a CV and a cover letter, about the right behaviour during an interview, etc.
